Bacovian

Bewails not the rain;

lessens not the snow;

leave him to the night

to shout us into dawn.

 .

He alone intuits light

from his certainty of dark,

the sad Luciferic seedling

squeezing forth a tear.

 .

The poet! Today is our pouring!

Silence is the threshold of his stick

where hope will blossom.

Violet is the sum of deletion!

Bacoviană

Viorel Ploeşteanu

Nu-l plângeţi pe cel care plouă;

Nu râdeţi pe cel care ninge;

Lăsaţi-l în noapte să strige

Făcându-nenoapte şi nouă.

.

El singur mai ştie să vadă

Lumină, când e întuneric,

În tristul răsad luciferic

Lăsându-şi lacrima să cadă.

.

E dus dintre noi, azi, poetul!

Tăcut, lângă uşă toiagul

Mai speră să-i vină pribeagul.

Ce şters e acum violetul!
